The client was looking to brand each branch within their organization with a strong mark that could be easily and quickly be reproduced. I looked to LatinX culture and history to provide inspiration, then chose imagery that uniquely represented each branch. I chose a stencil-like graphic style that would fit aesthetically on letterheads and protest signs alike. It’s not based off of a real band, therefore the logo is gibberish, not unlike most metal logos. This took about 40 hours with a one week turn around. Everything was hand drawn, scanned, and digitally tweaked. I limited myself to using materials and tools I was unfamiliar with—Ink, a toilet paper roll, construction paper, etc—and created these start to finish in 24 hours. After it dried, I scanned it and used Adobe Illustrator to create outlines and textures that I saw take shape in the dried paint.
